STRENGTH / PUSH

Push-ups with control.

Adjust the height to match your strength. Build a consistent movement before choosing a harder variation.

Push-ups with control.

Floor · stable raised surface

Your path in three steps

  1. Start higher

Place your hands on a stable raised surface. A higher hand position generally makes the movement easier to control.

  2. Move as one unit

Engage your trunk and glutes. Lower and lift your body as one unit, using a range of motion you can control.

  3. Lower the height

Gradually reduce the hand height. Move to a lower surface or the floor once the current variation feels consistently controlled.

What to focus on

  • Choose a surface that cannot slide.
  • Avoid letting your trunk sag uncontrollably.
  • Let your elbows move in a comfortable position.

A useful next step

Choose a height that lets you repeat the same technique. Change one variable at a time: repetitions or difficulty.
